The oldest Halloween parade

Day 21!

Just a little fun fact about Halloween.

Did you know the nation's oldest evening Halloween parade is held right here in the small town of Hiawatha, Kansas?! They actually have two parades... an afternoon kids' parade and then the evening parade. It's over 100 years old. School lets out early that day. They schedule two separate nights for trick or treating so everyone can participate or watch the evening parade. There is a queen contest. They have all sorts of other activities and apparently take their Halloween fun seriously. LOL I've only lived in Hiawatha a few years but I know the governor has attended in the past.
